The American Association of Veterinary Clinicians has supported and enhanced veterinary postgraduate clinical training and academic medicine since 1958. We support the faculty, house officers, and academic leaders who train the next generation of veterinarians.

Veterinary Internship and Residency Matching Program®

The AAVC sponsors the Veterinary Internship and Residency Matching Program (VIRMP®), which brings structure and fairness to how veterinary graduates find internship and residency programs. Applicants and programs each rank their preferences confidentially, and a neutral process pairs them — giving every applicant and every program the same footing.

Membership

Veterinary colleges across the United States and Canada hold membership in the AAVC, and clinical faculty at those institutions are members as well. Membership connects faculty to conferences, awards, and a network of colleagues working on the same challenges. Your department head or hospital director can tell you more.
